Slackware 12.2

Po nieco ponad siedmiu miesiącach od wydania wersji 12.1, Patrick Volkerding ogłosił dostępność Slackware Linux 12.2.

Zmian w stosunku do wersji RC1, którą opisywaliśmy niedawno jest niewiele. Najważniejszą z nich, przynajmniej dla użytkowników desktopów, jest brak KDE 4.1, które musi poczekać do Slackware 13.0, a do tego czasu dostępne jest w gałęzi current. W związku z poprawkami bezpieczeństwa, w finalnym wydaniu Slackware 12.2 znaleźć można PHP w wersji 5.2.8 (w RC1 było to 5.2.6).
Opis zalecanego procesu aktualizacji ze Slackware 12.1 przeczytać można w pliku CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT.

Podsumowując, w nowej edycji Slackware znaleźć można:

  • kernel 2.6.27.7, udev-135,
  • glibc 2.7,
  • Xorg 7.3 (+drobne aktualizacje sterowników, itp.)
  • KDE 3.5.10, Xfce 4.4.3,
  • GCC 4.2.4, Perl 5.10.0, Ruby 1.8.7, Python 2.5.2, Subversion 1.5.4, git 1.6.0.3, mercurial 1.0.2,
  • Apache HTTPd 2.2.10, PHP 5.2.8,
  • MySQL 5.0.67, SQLite 3.6.6.2,
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0.4,SeaMonkey 1.1.13, Thunderbird 2.0.0.18
  • GIMP 2.4.7
  • alpine zamiast pine, znów dostępny xmms
  • możliwość wybrania zasobu SMB jako źródła w instalatorze

Drzewo 12.2 pobrać można z mirrorów Slackware (w tym naszego). Obrazy ISO niedługo powinny znaleźć się na niektórych z tych serwerów (na naszym już są), a póki co można je pobrać poprzez BitTorrent, pomagając przy okazji innym.
